Plant Based & Halal Certified
Vegan Gummies & Gummy Bears
Gluten Free & Gelatine-Free
Are gummies vegan? Most aren’t, because they’re set with gelatine from pork or beef. Freedom Gummies are: 100% plant based, gelatine-free, gluten free and halal certified, with no artificial flavours or colours.
The vegan gummy line-up
Every bag is vegan, gelatine-free, gluten free, halal certified and made without artificial flavours, colours or corn syrup.
Are gummy bears vegan?
Most gummy bears are not vegan, because they’re set with gelatine — usually from pork or beef. Freedom Gummies are different: we set every gummy with plant-based carrageenan or pectin, glaze them with carnauba wax instead of beeswax and colour them with beetroot, spirulina and turmeric. Same squish, same chew, nothing from an animal.
Gelatine-free, always
No pork, beef or fish gelatine in any Freedom gummy — just plant-based gelling agents.
Gluten free
No cereals containing gluten in any of our gummies, so they suit coeliac and gluten free diets.
Halal & kosher
Halal certified and kosher suitable — one bag for the whole table.
Why most gummies aren’t vegan
Three ingredients turn an ordinary gummy into an animal product. Here’s what to look for on the back of the bag.
“Gelatine”
The classic gummy bounce usually comes from gelatine, made from pork or beef. We use carrageenan (from seaweed) or pectin (from fruit) instead.
“Beeswax” or “shellac”
That shiny, non-stick finish is often beeswax or shellac. Ours is carnauba wax and vegetable oil, both from plants.
“Carmine” (E120)
Some red gummies are coloured with carmine, made from insects. Our reds, purples and greens come from beetroot, spirulina, turmeric, carrot and blackcurrant.
Gluten free gummies and gummy bears
The questions we’re asked most, answered in one breath each.
Are gummy bears gluten free?
Often, but not always. Some gummies use wheat-based glucose syrup or starch, or are made on lines that handle gluten. Freedom Gummies Bears list no cereals containing gluten in their allergen information.
Are vegan gummies gluten free?
Not automatically. Vegan only tells you there are no animal ingredients. Every Freedom gummy is both vegan and gluten free, so you don’t have to choose.
Which Freedom gummies are Top 14 allergen-free?
Bears, Colas, Mojis, Worms and Super Sour Worms are free from all Top 14 allergens. For Tots, check the allergen information on the product page and pack.
